JUSTICE4KATIE is a non-profit movement dedicated to making changes, creating awareness, and continuing to honor and remember our beloved Katie Burkey.

Katie’s death was not a senseless accident. It was the result of choices made by a distracted, speeding driver behind the wheel of an overweight, poorly maintained truck. No skid marks. No attempt to stop. A life extinguished in an instant. Her story is not just ours to bear. It is a warning and a call to every community, every driver, and every policymaker.

We exist so that fewer families endure the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one to distracted driving. We look at this problem from all sides. We educate new teen drivers about road safety and the dangers of driving distracted. We push for laws that make Minnesota’s roads safer and hold drivers accountable for their actions. We work to change how people see their time behind the wheel, not as routine but as a profound responsibility. We support families coping with loss. And we demand accountability from those whose neglect costs lives.

Katie’s absence speaks in the silence she should fill. We give that silence purpose.

JUSTICE4KATIE URGES ALL DRIVERS TO DO ONE SIMPLE THING - PAY ATTENTION AND JUST DRIVE!
